On-site Information
Banking Facilities
There are unfortunately no banking facilities at Riocentro: no banks and no ATMs (automated teller machines). Credit cards will be accepted when registering for the Conference, but not when purchasing meals and refreshments.
Please ensure you carry sufficient cash (Brazilian reals or US dollars) for your on-site purchases.
First Aid Stations
An emergency medical facility in the conference centre will be available to all conference delegates.
Hotel Desk
The Hotel Desk will be conveniently situated in the Registration Area in Pavilion 5.
Tours, Excursions and Transportation Desk
The Tours, Excursions and Transportation Desk will be conveniently situated in the Registration Area in Pavilion 5.
Information Desks
Information desks situated in Pavilion 5 will provide multilingual services for any inquiries regarding all aspects of the Conference.
Lounge for Delegates Living with HIV/AIDS
The People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) Lounge is designed to be a place of rest and support where PLWHAs can find relief from the busy and often tiring conference experience. For many delegates who live with HIV/AIDS, the PHA lounge can be the most valuable aspect of their conference experience, providing opportunities to meet and talk with other PHAs from across the globe in a relaxed and nurturing environment. The lounge will provide complementary snacks, spaces for informal meetings, relaxation, and private facilities for taking medication. It is located on the first floor in Pavilion 5.
Meals and Snacks
Catering areas where delegates can purchase light meals and snacks will be set up in Pavilions 4 and 5.
Media Centre
Located in Pavilion 5, the media centre will serve the needs of journalists covering the Conference. Services provided to registered journalists will include computer work stations, printers, telephones and internet connections.
Rooms will also be available for interviews and third-party press conferences.
On-site Check-In Procedures
Delegates, exhibitors and media must personally check in at the appropriate Registration Desk in Pavilion 5 to pick up their conference bag and badge before attending any Conference sessions or events.
Please keep your confirmation letter containing your registration number with you at all times.

Registration on Saturday 23 July is for group registration and scholarship registration only.
On-Site Publications
The Final Program, Abstracts on CD-ROM and/or the Abstract Book, will be distributed on-site to delegates according to their order submitted during the registration process.
Safety and Security
There will be permanent 24-hour security staffing at the Riocentro during the Conference. A coordinated security plan is being put together to ensure delegate safety.
Services for People with Disabilities
Please indicate on the Registration and Accommodation Form any special requirements you may have to allow us to best serve you. The Riocentro has international-standard facilities for the physically challenged, including access ramps, elevators and toilets for people with special needs.
Smoking Policy
Smoking is not permitted in the conference venue, except in designated smoking areas, which are clearly marked.
Speaker Service Centre
Speakers and Session Chairs must report to the Speaker Service Centre one day prior to their session to deposit their presentations and confirm attendance. Equipment for PowerPoint presentations will be available, as this form of presentation is recommended. The Speaker Service Centre is located in Pavilion 5.
Transportation
The Conference Organisers will provide free transportation for all registered delegates between the official Conference hotels and the Conference venue. Detailed information about time schedule and bus service will be posted on the Transportation page.
