Words of Welcome
Dear Colleagues,
On behalf of the International AIDS Society, IAS, it is my pleasure
to invite you to attend the 3rd IAS Conference on HIV Pathogenesis
and Treatment, to be held in Rio de Janeiro from 24-27 July 2005.
The IAS 2005 Conference will bring together participants from
around the world to share and discuss the latest developments in
HIV/AIDS research, prevention, and treatment. It is particularly fitting that the Conference will be held in Brazil, a country that has
shown it is possible to mount a comprehensive response to HIV/AIDS in the developing world.
The Conference will continue what is becoming a strong tradition
of scientifically focused meetings held every other year, between the
International AIDS Conferences. These meetings increasingly showcase both the international nature of the problem and the international nature of the solution.
We look forward to seeing you in Rio de Janeiro in 2005 as we continue to face the epidemic with creativity, solidarity, and commitment.
